What do you think of changing the concept of "song/Audio" to "project"? I was thinking that the concept of songs is deprecated and based on the old school recording industry model. In that model, the outcome resulted in one or two songs at max. With the open source music idea of Mix2r.com, a project could result in several final works. Basically each person visiting the site could register to receive information about new projects when the required skill set matched their capabilities. A person coming to the site the first time could quickly look to see if there are any projects that match their skill set and decide if they want to contribute.
Thoughts?

I like the idea of keeping the concept of Audio the way it is, perhaps renaming it to "track", and adding the ability to create projects that contain audio files. Perhaps the project could also allow artists to specify the role of various enclosed tracks, e.g.

Yeah, good concept, but we're talking about workflow design here, essentially. Do you work in a project mode, or is uploading one bounced track what you want to see?
But still...I'm piqued by your genre comment. I intentionally murdered our original massive genre taxonomy to encourage people to broadly classify their content. I mean...I don't think you need to feel pegged in by saying your stuff is "electronica"... but something like "Acid House" puts a pretty fine point on the art in question...which may be bad if labels annoy you, good if you want to find shit easily...
I'm mixed up on this issue...my professional experience has a lot to do with taxonomy management, so I have this drive toward classification which I am trying to smother a bit with Mix2r...
