Just wondering what the points rating is all about...

Anyone??

How do I increase my points?

Points are awarded for each post, audio project upload etc. The concept is to track how active different users are on the site. I just earned one point for posting this. I am not sure why this is being done. Admin?

Yeah, guess I should explain that.

So, if you upload a music file, you get 10 points. If you invite someone to the site and they join..you get 5 points. Forums topics and comments get you 1 point.

What are points for?

I was hoping to use them for some kind of artist feature concept where we feature the top users on the site, maybe do an interview, post pictures...develop a special page for that user. At the very least, its like a scoreboard :-)

What about points for content?

I noticed that all content (replies) has a points score but no way to provide points for content. Maybe we could enable that so that good content also gets flagged (*or most voted for music).

You get 10 points for uploading music. Delete it, you lose 10 points.

I meant for content like these comments.

The points shows on the lower right hand side but here is no way to vote a point for a comment. How does the points for comments get implemented?

Those points aren't the same

Those points aren't the same as vote points. The points that show on the right are assigned automatically. A comment gets a single point. Idea here is that the higher the number, the more content/users you have uploaded. No correlation to quality or community approval.
